今日は、キャンドルナイト実行委員会で"振返り会"をしました。

辻信一さん、枝廣淳子さん、マエキタミヤコさんはじめ、
実行委員会メンバーで今年のキャンドルナイトについて
話をしました。

その中で、辻さんが、マイケルジャクソンの「Earth Song」の
話をしていました。

ジョークまじりに
「PVを観る度にマイケルの顔をみて"What about you?"と思っていたよ」と。

14年も前にこんな壮大なメッセージを発していたのですね。
言葉にするととても薄っぺらですが、
彼の偉大さを再認識しています。

想像もできなかったけれど、そんな彼も父親で、
一番小さな家族というコミュニティーをとても大切にしていたことを知りました。
わたしたちは表面ばかりを見てしまってますね。
もっと生前からそういうことにも目を向けられればいいのに、
いつも何か起きてから悔む。

そういう後悔を少しずつ減らしていきたいものです。

彼は、どんなコンプレックスを抱き続けていたのでしょう。
どんなに成功しても、どんどん白くなっていく姿・・・。
いつか語ってくれる日を待っていたのですが、
もう聞けないですね・・・。

*only son >>>聖書に"TAKE YOUR SON, YOUR ONLY SON"とある。ある日、神はアブラハムの信仰を試そうとして彼が年老いてから初めて生まれた子、イサクを焼き尽くすささげものとして供えるよう求める。 アブラハムはこれに従い、イサクも直前になって自分が犠牲であることを悟ったが抗わなかった。アブラハムがまさに息子を屠ろうとした時、神はアブラハムの 信仰の確かさを知ってこれを止めた（イサクの燔祭）。God tested Abraham to see whom He would choose
